I have really really bad memory issues after drining was wondering whwther any of you shared the same problem?

My lack of memory has caused me to not remember manmany things that i WISH I could. The most recent is a conversation with some girl last night which may have been more of an argument than a conversation. Ooops.

Obviously the key is not to drink as much, however, sometimes I'm not even acting that drunk but the next day i still will not remember.

It always leaves me with the...oh no what happened last night?...thought almost everytime I wake up after a night out. Which, let me tell you, is not the best thing. Worse is then trying to decide what to do about a situation that your friend has informed you about that you have no recollection of and don't really know any details. My chosen method today is do nothing, time is the greatest healer.

I need to drink less...it was a resolution and I have failed twice this week!

Arnt they the 3 worst things that you can mix together? :p

I heard Beer and wine will have you flat on your back and the wiskey doesnt like being mixed with one of the 2 either

Its always beer + vodka that does it for me :(

I suffer from memory loss through drinking sometimes but I have a theory - I generally don't remember mundane things like the walk home after a night out ergo my brain is filtering information that isn't useful to me out and saving capacity for what I might actually need to remember. Or it could just been that I've drunk too much to remember, either or. :)

after a couple of drinks containing 4 shots each maybe..?

It's all to do with inhibition of the neurons in the brain that control memory due to too much alcohol hitting at once. You will be pretty drunk at the time you have memory loss, I believe. Basically you lose the ability to move anything to long term memory, so during a blackout you can only remember the last couple of minutes, and then the memory just disappears. You can hold reasonably normal conversation fairly easily without remembering them at-all later.. as you probably know ;).

Eating quite a lot before hand should (I think) help as it will slow down the absorption of the alcohol, so you won't get drunk quite so quickly. But you might just end up delaying the process a bit.

(I read the stuff about blackouts ages ago... did some googling and it came up with some interesting research. No idea what I put in... probably something like alcohol memory loss)

vodka red bull for £1 is lethal and you used to be able to order 4 in a pint glass here, which is even worse because people tend to down it and it all hits at once. Red Bull is a stimulant, so while you get just as drunk, you believe that you're less drunk than you are. I'm told it's illegal to sell 4 measures as one drink so you have to order them seperately now..

No matter how drunk I am, I remember everything.

Win.

No matter how drunk I get I don't have hangovers.

Win.

Although I do forget what happens partially, apparently I don't want to know :o

Lol, I dont get hangovers either. Did when I first started to go out but now, Ive got used to it.

I can remember everything mostly, its just usually the small details of when Im on my way home or what not. Talking a couple of mins here and there though.

For example, when I get in, I can remember having a drink but not actually going to my room and going sleep etc. Or on the other hand, cant remember having a drink but can remember going to bed.

Its weird. The main points I remember what I did. Sometimes, I wish I could'nt though :p
