Somewhere in the middle.
I just checked my bank statement which explains how I managed to buy a pizza and chips on way home last night.

Cashpoints in Nightclubs are a bad idea :(

Anyone else fell victim to this? and got a nasty suprise when they checked their statement.

I get them all the time, I hate checking my balance.

I expect that your ATM charged for the withdrawl as well, most of the pubs/clubs around Exeter have machines that add a couple of quid for their "trouble".

Oh yea... I'm always doing this...
I hate the heavy fees they put on them as well! Normally just get some money outside the pub before heading to a club :p

I forget where, but there is a cashpoint that charges £10 in London somewhere. Or at least, there was.

And were you drunk at the time of seeing this? Did you not just select 'withdraw £10'? :P

I remember accidentally pressing the withdraw £250 button when my mate was using the cash machine, he was none too pleased.

I had a good experience with one in a club last weekend. Rather than have a cashpoint they just have a woman behind a window doing cashback for £2. I asked for £40 but when I checked my receipt the next morning she had only charged me £20. Result!

I have my card on me, but generally dont get it out - Draw out the money for the night at the start, and try and stick to it. Not that I ever really do, but keeps me a lot more in check than constantly getting drinks on the card, or the odd £10/20 out here and there.

At least you don't have friends who find it hilarious to play "cashpoint lottery"

Yeah, they hit the £200 button, so I had that in my pocket all night. Because I had it, of course I had to spend it... not all, thankfully, but about £60. Gits.

Yep I've fallen victim to this before, ended up with about £450 on me, I demanded we detour the cab ride to my house before the club so I could drop most of it off.

used to do this loads... out for a couple of beers with the lads, cashpoint directly across the road which led to a regular friday/saturday night thing of me half jaked taking out 50 quid or so and ending up absolutely mullered.

To combat this I tried to go out with just cash and no cards until i ended up at a party with no cash for a taxi and having to walk 6 miles home at 4am.
