/Drunken Rant

Personally - I would be out but I was working until 10.30 and I have to save money for the 21st when I go to see Man Utd play Everton :) Was out last week though :) - one of my mates got kicked out of where we were because a girl threw a drink over him (again someone from the bar who pointed this out to the doorman - in his defense both the girl and my matre were thrown out). And yeah I'd love to be out tonight but can't be so :p thanks for making me feel so good!

Sorry mate. Hope the Man Utd/ Everton game is worth it though :D Enjoy that night out!

At the same time the amount of crap that doormen have to put up with every weekend can be partially to blame for there blank "lights are on but nobodies home" look/lack of emotion/decisions.

You do realise it's his job to keep the VIP area a place where the general masses aspire to be and not to let every 'decent member of society' in? :p

As a 'decent member of society' yourself, I'm surprised you've allowed yourself to descend to a level where you feel the need to deride others.

Brilliant I do love people like you, I bet when you end up getting your head kicked in by 5drunken drugged up pratts for no apparent reason you will be quite happy that theres more than 1 of us around to save your sorry little arse.
Also just so you know a fair amount of the guys I work with have degrees, theres nothing wrong with having a little job on the side for some extra cash.
You will also find that as he was controling access to an area within a licenced venue he would have been a doorman.

Yes I have just finished an 11 hour shift listening to inane drunken bable and carrying boobs who cant just have a good time backwards and forwards between medics

I fail to see what the issue is in the OP.

OP approaches a doorman (albeit a doorman working the entrance to the VIP area of the club rather than the door itself) who denies him access, because that's what he's been told to do. Manager then comes over and allows access, because he's the one that has instructed the doorman in the first place.

OP then sees the doorman continue doing his job, as he's been told to do it by his manager, and none of the other people who try to get into the VIP area think to ask for the manager, who would have granted them access.

Sounds like the OP thought laterally and took the correct course of action to gain entry to an area of a club which is more heavily controlled than the rest of the venue.

Or am I missing something?

:p

White middle class schoolboy goes out with chums and due to ugliness didn't get in VIP area until manager said so ?

Was that it ? drunken rant over?
