Ok first thing, this is not a medical thread, I am not going to go all the way to the doctors to ask them. " will I die if I use dry heating"

So yes, the question, can dry heating (well that's what my mum calls it, you know, those heaters on wall with the elements inside them) make some people ill or just abit rough compared with radiators with oil or water in em?

I thought heat was heat and made no difference where it came from?

The is no difference, all that makes I to your body is the heat, doesn't matter if its from an electric element heater, oil heater, or a LPHW radiator.

The only exception the might be is those halogen lamp heaters as their not heating the air around you their heating you directly.

Like fan heaters?

They swill around lots of dust so not the best things in the world.
Do you have one at work or something?

Just like A/C units though as long as their not dirty and the office isn't then the shouldn't be a problem.

In the flat we have one of the heaters in every room, no fan, just those old fashioned ones that have like an element in.

And the one i the bathroom is similar but has a fan in it.

My radiators don't spurt hot water at me, I don't think any special wetness is permeating the metal either so I'd consider them a dry heat also.

You should go hurt whoever put this foolish notion in your head, they're either a danger to society or simply ****ing with you.

She might be meaning any sort of central heating, as I believe they all tend to create a dry atmosphere that can be worse for you than a slightly humid atmosphere.

Electric heating? I have electric heating in my whole flat. It doesn't make me ill, just cold because it's totally rubbish.

think its just because it drys the air (takes humidity from it) ive had sore throats from similiar type of heaters.

Yes, you will die.

It may take some years, but you will eventually die and when you do draw your last breathe you will know it was because you used dry heating.

OP have you not asked yourself where the "wet" goes when using these "dry" heaters?

I always thought it was into another dimension, as when you heat something, it just... disappears, and my only logical thought was, the water probably reappears in another dimension.
