DS Ethernet Problems

DS4 and Ethernet Problems - Problem Sorted

Hi All,

Just done a rebuild to a DS4, 6600 and 8800GTS, but have a problem with the ethernet port on the DS4.

I haven't done a full re-install of XP yet, though as i needed the computer up and running sharpish and haven't got time to re XP and put the software that I need back on, and everything is working great apart from the ethernet.

On trying to install the ethernet driver I get the following error

Sorry!! we don't support this ID, Your ID aren't correct.
"

Anybody experienced this and found a solution. Used to have a nForce 4 board and have removed (hopefully) all of the driver for that.

Running my cable modem by USB currently, but would like to get it back in the LAN port.

XP is not guaranteed to sort itself out when you change motherboards and it looks like it hasn't done it in your case. A fresh XP install on a C2D system is remarkably quick and would take less time than you're likely to spend trying to fix a broken intallation.

It does install very quickly ... hardly had time to brew up !
