I've not tried snaking yet. I've managed to complete all the Grand Prix's and get all the time trial ghosts on MKDS, and I'm sure I could beat most non-snakers most of the time.
I'd get whipped by anyone snaking though, as I just don't do it. I've never tried.

Personally i dont see snakers as cheats, but i do think its an aspect of the game that should be dropped if nintendo want to cultivate a decent online MK community, anything that rips the players down the middle because of one skill will lead to problems.
You have the snakers and non snakers who are in totally different leagues, its just not beneficial to the community as a whole, might as well drop it and have a larger and happier online experience.
Its a shame because i was looking forward to MK online a lot, and this whole issue has ruined it. For me MK is about the racing and the weapons, its not a hardcore racing game where one slip up whilst snaking will lose you the race, its about going from 8th to 1st with one press of a blue shell, if i want hardcore racing i'll get an F1 game.
Whilst snakers are perfectly entitled to play that way, it does ruin the game for the majority and does nothing to enhance the nintendo online community as a whole.

For a decent comunity you need competition and skill, not luck based games. Time trials and communication are also important. Here's hoping no one whines about wavedashing and L cancelling when smash bros goes online.chimaera said:

#yes i agree MK on the snes was actually the finest version of mario kart, but to not advance some of the aspects of the game over the course of a decade or so would be quite silly.
however that doesnt mean that they should radically alter the fundamentals of the game.
besides, to be sucessful online, a game also needs to be fun. how much fun are the people in this thread having with MK online? apart from Kreeeee it doesnt seem that many others are actually enjoying it too much...
