As i havent owned a handheld for a very long time, ive been looking at all the different accessoires for the DS lite.

Im going to be ordering a car charger, cleaning cloth, stylus and carrying equipment for it, however ive just come across a media player.

Has anyone got one? How good are they? Easy to use? What sort of stuff can you put on them, ebooks etc?

thanks

do you need to flash the DS and get moonshell or whatever its called to get the movies and music working?

i am gonna want something that has all the media programs with it so i dont have to flash or do anything but plug and play... obviously other than converting.

ive no idea mate, ive been searching everywhere and can find no solid/decent info on it :(

I think you can alrerady use these without flashing your firmware. You just need one of the newer Passme type cards such as the SuperKeyDS and the M3 Perfect Passcard V3.

Get a SuperkeyDS and a Supercard... I have that combi and its quality. Plays AVI, Divx, MP3 and ebooks as well as homebrew. Will cost about £12 for the superkey, £30 for the Supercard and whatever for a Flashcard...

If you have the DS Lite then i'd hold off for a few weeks. The new 'lite' versions of the flash cards from all the big guys are on their way and sit nicely flush with the bottom of the DSL, rather than sticking out like the GBA sized minisd ones do.

and then a flash card reader for your PC?

Ive read the media player uses USB to your PC much like an external HDD.

Yep, the media player one uses a mini harddisk rather than normal flash, but it has incompatibility with some other homebrew apps.

As far as I can tell this site doesn't have anything 'dodgy on it so should be ok to post.

Covers most things as they come out, and general DS news.

How come you went with SD and not miniSD by the way?

Got one the other week just not played with it yet

That's one monster sized flash cart :)

This is mine with the MiniSD SuperCard in it (2 gig) running MoonShell (the media player) :

The card doesn't really get in the way, but it looks ugly sticking out, so I'll be getting the transflash supercard lite when they're ready :)

I've had and been in loads of emu threads on here. Just no linking to rom's or bios or talk of piracy and you're all good mate :)

That was my impression as well. As far as I know that site I posted is very strict on keeping everything legal, so there's no talk of ROMs etc. in the forums.

I went SD because I have more SD cards avaliable to me, has anyone got DSorganisor to work on there ds lites, I've taken a look and I am not sure but I may beable to get it woriking with the media player I ordered, heres a link for any one who has not heard of the software before, please remove if it is not allowed in the forum. Should be ok as the application is not emulating any software avaliable for the ds.

Fair enough.

DSOrganiser works fine on the supercard, it's a bit sluggish, but it's a nice little app.

There's also a windows messenger client out for it now.. although I haven't tried it.

Awesome I was abit worried it wouldn't work on with the hardware I brought, I just like the fact that for £130 ish you can get a dual screen organisor, olus movie player that works with loads of formats.

As soon as email and web browsing are avalaible the ds will be a mighty powerful tool :D

I don't know what make you have, I was just saying it works on my supercard :)

Opera DS seems very well designed, seems to use the dual/touch screen very well.. might even be useable :)
