Just ordered a DS Lite+Brain Training+Pokémon Diamond+Deluxe Accessory pack :D

What games do you guy think are a must have for the DS?

Thanks,
Craig.

Hi,

I would suggest the following games:
Mario Kart
Zelda Phantom Hourglass
Tetris
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Band of Brothers

To be honest there are loads of great games on the DS.

Pop over to IGN or Gamespot for some reviews (including video reviews) of all the latest games.

Enjoy your DS, its a great little device.

Cheers so far guys, I'll check them all out on Gamespot/IGN :)

I can't wait for it to arrive! Hopefully Thursday. It'll be in time for the half term holiday as well :D

Hotel Dusk has been mentioned three times now, are these all Hotel Dusk Room 215, or are there different versions?

Craig.

Yep, I have a PSP.

I really do like my PSP, great games, brilliant graphics. Overall a very nice handheld, but it's not exactly portable, especially if you're fussy about your stuff (like me).

e.g. you can't just slip the PSP into your pocket, it'll probably ruin the screen and make it look nasty.

With the DS I won't be scared of putting it down somewhere, or putting it in my pocket etc.

Craig.

Yeah and that... :p

Mine sits in my car normally and I whip it out at college. At the moment it's on my lap though. Zelda is just sooooo good.

bomberman, new super mario bros, sonic, brain training, mario kart... just to name afew.

Is there an r-type kinda game on the DS? Or even a streetfighter??? Big fan of the old classics :)

Mario Kart DS
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Jump Ultimate Stars
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
New Super Mario Bros.
Meteos
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan
Elite Beat Agents
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Ouendan 2
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Pokemon Pearl/Diamond
Super Mario 64 DS
Daigasso! Band Brothers
Tetris DS
Tony Hawk's American Sk8land
Sonic Rush
Worms: Open Warfare 2
WarioWare: Touched!
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Yoshi's Island DS
Bleach: The Blade of Fate
Age of Empires: The Age of Kings

We're stupidly spoilt for choice on the DS, no wonder I got bored of my PSP!

DS > PSP

Personally I think the DS is the best Handheld ever, and I never thought anything would beat my Neo-Geo Pocket to that title.

Not the biggest DS fan, don't have a huge libary of games but...

Zelda: minish cap (okay a GBA game, but if ya haven't played it; a worthy title for pre Phantom Hourglass fix)

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (looks good, getting solid reviews)

Sonic Rush 1 (if ya enjoyed the old 2D sonic games, this puts all that new 3D poop to shame, I loved it lots)

Mario Kart DS (generally more the same kart action, but still fun)

Mario 64 (only if ya haven't played the original could I reccomend it, DS version is a surprisingly good port)

I really don't think Hotel Dusk is all that.

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty good. Good story, interesting characters, and a decent point & click adventure, but it's nothing amazing. In terms of point & clicks, it pales in comparison to almost anything on the PC, and even Another Code and the Pheonix Wright series are better than it on the DS.

Nearly everything Kreeeee listed (bar the few I haven't played) is better than Hotel Dusk.

each to their own but i thought the hotel dusk storyline was gripping and very intersting. I know it might not be as advanced as a PC point and click, but i cant play point and click adventures on the PC when im on the toilet/train ;)

It's a good storyline definitely, but the slow nature of the game, and the fact that there's only ever one thing you should be doing, or one person you should be talking to, really limits it for me.

They needed to make it a tiny bit more freeform, and less forced. Knocking on the doors of people you've just spoken to, and getting no response kind of ruins the immersion for me a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm playing it right now, and enjoying it, but it's got a fair few bits it could improve on.
