Depends on what type of games you like. Personally, atm I'd choose the DS but there are some quality titles coming out on the PSP now such as Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid.
Look at the games on both consoles, see how many for each interest you, buy the one with the most.
DS imo, I bought a PSP on launch but have never really used it, thinking about getting one now for MGS and GT (which is what I originally bought one for lol).
but overall I've had more fun on my DS than any other handheld I've owned.
Pokemon, Mario Kart, Mario Brothers, Castlavania, Metroid, GTA.. list goes on.
DS. I had a PSP from launch (2005) and to this day its only Luminies that I liked. So I gave it to my brother in France.
I still have my DS and play it. The DS was the first handheld to play multiplayer via wifi over the internet. It was great to sit downstairs and play Mario Kart with other people from around the world
As I've got a PS3 as well, I sit in bed at my gf's house watching movies etc across remote play... Works fine. so for me a PSP is also a great mobile media centre...
Screen is also quite good, I've got a PSP3000. down to your own choice though mate.
If you prefer games you can pick up and play for any length of time and then return to 2 weeks later and just carry on where you left off, get the DS. If you want 'proper' console games then get the PSP. The PSP is pretty much like having a portable console whereas the DS is a hand-held.
I have both....as previously mentioned in this thread..DS is good for short bursts..maybe adverts on T.V or when you are likely to get interrupted.
PSP can sustain a good session....I pretty much played my PSP all the way from UK to Mexico this year (~10 hours) ...you will need to buy a spare battery like I did for such long sessions but the time flew (pun) by!
If I had to choose 1 or the other probably PSP cause it can sustain short and long...
i started off with the DS Lite, great machine with a lot of quality titles. both platfroms have their pros and cons. i've spent so many hours playing the mario games on it, zelda, pokemon .
but since getting my phat psp for £35 and everybody's golf 2, i am spending a lot more time on it. totally different games on both consoles. the screen size on the psp is ace too.
as much as I love my DSi, I dont think it'll be worth at it's current price until they announce quite a few exclusive titles, have a multiplatform DSi store for GB/GBA/Gamegear classics etc.
once and if they do that the DSi will become very much worth it, DS lite is the best bet.
3000 for the psp, dont touch the Go unless you are quite well off .
