I'm not sure if im being really (really) anal about this or not but the bottom DS screen has the backlight showing on the extreme left. If you look at the console straight on you can't see it (unless the screens on but blank and then you can see it for one or two pixels). Its like a thin bright white strip of light right down the side on the console that irritates me to hell but I think it might not be enough of a problem to go under warrenty.

Am I being to picky (most likely lol)

I've used a complicated graphical package to help show you my dillema:

Sounds like the screen has moved away from the casing slightly, and you can see the backlight.

Is it new / been dropped / bent etc.?

Yeah I think thats what it is, just not sure if the problem is significant enough for Nintendo to fix it (thought it does annoy me a lot lol).

Its a brand new one.

If it's brand new you should definitely take it back to the store. My GBA had one dead pixel when I bought it and I got a new one with no problems, in fact the guy in the store even took the second one out of the box to check it for me.

Thanks for the advice guys. I phoned up the purple place and they said they'd look at it, so I'm off to town now to try and sort it out hopefully they will let me exchange it :).

They did swap it over, even though technically I guess its within tolerance. Anyways a happy ending thanks everyone :).

Now to look for some good DS RPG's!
