Hi all,

Can anyone enlighten me as to what has to be done to safely run a TT120 with a DS3 board ?

I hear the backplate for the TT can short the DS3's

What's the remedy for this ?

Thanks
Si

There should not be any problems; I followed the concise instructions that came with the Tuniq and had no trouble with booting up. If this sounds patronising, I’m sorry, but make sure you use the correct CPU back plate for your motherboard (775) as the Tuniq comes with two different plates. Other than that, I think you’ll be fine.

Also, you might need some type of non-liquid adhesive to hold down the “H” type plate, as it can be quite temperamental when trying to screw the Tuniq down.

Any problems, feel free to ask.

Whatever you do do not peel off the sticker and stick the backplate on.
yes there is shorting use masking tape or a piece of thin plastic.

Seems some people do have the problem and some dont, should i bother using some tape inbetween just incase or risk it when its time to put together.

I presume shorting the board fubar's it ?

Thanks
Si :)

Doesn't fubar it, will just not work with it on!

In all fairness use tape as it will save time and effort of having to take it all apart again if it does short it out like mine. Just don't stick the backing plate to the mobo using the provided sticky pad, as it is a right pain to get off if needs be

Id take every precaution possible. Its not quite the same, but my P5D deluxe recently shorted due to my phase unit backplate, resulting in a lot of white smoke and a very dead mobo with a massive burn hole in it. :(
