Am I right in saying that if I'm not bothered about firewire and I have only two HDDs that I intend to set up in RAID, the only difference between the two boards is the heatpipe, which is a bit gimmicky anyway, and the two PCI-E slots, when the board doesn't support SLi or crossfire?

Cheers in advance.

unless I'm mistaken the DS3 RAID is on the jMicron whereas the DS4 has the Intel Matrix as well.
Plus the DS4 does support Crossfire (or SLI with hacked drivers) or you could use the other PCI-Ex16 (which runs at x4) for a hardware RAID controller card or TV card etc.

I would say go DS4 - I've had very good results from this board and have now built 3 rigs based on this board.

I had the DS3, very good overclocking board but lack`s extra`s the DS4 has, depends what you want from the board really m8.

I managed 500x7 from an e6300 on my DS4 (using air cooling) ;)

How many DS3 owners have hit a genuine 500 FSB?

I can boot @ 7x500fsb with my DS4 + E6600....and the highest i've got it to is 512fsb.

Vocch any chance of a(MIT) bios screen shot so far got to 465 but no matter what i tweak i cannot get to 500mhz..

Here you go ReeMISM.....strange but were'nt having it with F6 bios had to flash back to F5...then done 500fsb no probs.

Thanks posting the overclock vocch very nice overclock indeed..Will have a go at those settings.Even more impressive with the Geil 5300 :) ..

Tried to hit 500mhz with those settings no luck i am afraid :( 470 at the top which isn,t to bad i suppose at one point i couldn,t get past 450mhz ;) ..

No probs mate....as i don't run a high overclock for 24/7 i thought i'd give it a little prime @ 7x500....more credable than a super pi 1mb i guess and my cooling is far from the best....would have liked to run it longer but not got the patience...and no way i would leave it just incase it cooked. :)
