Hi all, is there any lights on the Gigabyte DS3 that indicates any kind of current going to the motherboard?

I just bought a DS3, Corsair HX520 PSU, 2gb of Geil PC6400 ram and a BFG Geforce 8800 GTS to run in a Lian Li PC7 with a 6300 C2D + Tuniq Tower and there is no power whatsoever.

No fans are moving, no indication whatsoever of power. Im just wondering if its the PSU thats the problem or the motherboard.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Dan

Nope no lights. Do you have an optical mouse that would normally stay lit up after shutting-down your computer?

Nope, cant say Ive ever seen my optical mouse stay lit. Im 99.9% certain it's the PSU but I was just wondering if there was any way of seeing if it was the mobo...

try reseatting the cpu and memory and if that doesnt work check the power connector for the atx switch is connected correctly also unplug the power cable and hold power button for a min and clear cmos hopefullty that will get you back up.

Loosen the Tuniq Tower, and expect your RAM to error at timings lower than 5-5-5-18.

Yeah could be the problem that, loads of ppl have said they get nothing until they loosen the Tuniq a bit, my DS4 has got a power LED next to where you plug in your power switch etc...

It's a pity he owns a DS3.

Do you have any fans connected straight to the PSU rather than to the motherboard?

I do, has this been known to cause problems with a DS3?

Nope. But having a fan connected directly to the PSU would give an idea of whether the PSU was completely borked.
