DS3 Restart hanging

I,m not sure Saul, I will repost once I have tried clocking the new board. There are loads of threads on the web about this problem. I'm hoping its not the 965 chipset rather than the board itself.

I have now got an Asus P5B deluxe. Just getting all my programs sorted out just then I'll try getting a stable clock out of it.

Ok, keep me informed =D

Saul, I have just got the asus P5B deluxe running. E4300 @ 3.2 Ghz and 8500 crucial ballistix RAM @ 1066 NO cold boot problems.... none.

Orthos stable for 2-3 hrs. I know thats not a fully stable report yet but at least this board doesn't reject my settings every time I boot it up.

I think, therfore the PB5P board must be to blame...

I'll post agin if there's no change.

Saul if you want to email me my daytime is: [email protected]

Well thats a bit of a bummer...

How much is that Asus P5B? I was thinking about getting some new fans, a new North-Bridge cooler and a new HDD... I think a new mobo will screw that idea up...

the Asus board was about a £99. I wthink that would sort you out. I just gave up on the DS3P. Best move I've made in a while only wish I'd done it sooner.

Well if my mate can't fixed it over the weekend, I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy a new motherboard...

Getting a similar problem on my P35_DS4

Fine first boot of the day, but if I shutdown and don't pull the power, then maybe a couple of hours later I try to boot, gets stuck at the BIOS screen. Have to pull the power cord out to fix it.

It seems (not an expert so could be talking rubbish) that it's the USB ports that aren't working. Things like numlock key etc has no affect.

Haven't overclocked, only thing that I've altered is the Ram from 6-6-6-18 to their correct setting of 5-5-5-15

If its not working at stock you can RMA the board, or ask for a replacement. Firsty you need to rules out that it isn't a memory problem.

Thanks. I THINK it's due to me trying to use a 2GB USB stick with readyboost.

System boots and logs in 5 times faster without it and so far, no problems.

Got 4GB RAM, just thought I'd try to make use of the stick. (Vista 64 Premium)

Well mine is at my friends house now, I'm just hoping to get it working because I don't want to buy a new motherboard before the X38 chipsets come out (I think thats what they are called...).
