I have 2 maxtor 300gb drives,(plugged into the yellow sata controller) and assumed i had a psu problem (just upgraded to a 700watt psu following this so i am assuming now that its a motherboard problem...
If i switch the pc on, however many times i restart or switch on and off it will not recognize either of my maxtor drives, but will recognize my raptor (plugged into the purple controller).
The only way around this is to unplug the molex's from the harddrives and plug them in after the system has started to boot, and then reset it straight afterwards. It will then run perfectly until it is next switched off.
I am running the 12/10/2006 bios, which from the gigabyte site is the latest version, unless there is a beta around.
Should i RMA the motherboard? The HDD's although not used in 10months because the pc has been in storage, always worked fine without a hitch till i upgraded to the DS3.
