Am hoping that someone can throw some light on this.

Trying to update the bios from F3 to F5

@BIOS just crashes (used this method last time?)
also tried from floppy using the utility at boot up and that just hangs when pressing enter to proceed.

Totally stumped here.

Cheers Stelly,

Have even downloaded from 3 different places in case the first was corrupted but all 3 do the same?

F3 isn't bad but wanted to try and see if I could squeeze a bit more on the overclock with F5.

??????????

I recently upgraded to the F5 final BIOS.
However I simply copy the BIOS file to floppy disk, boot into the BIOS and then use the features in the BIOS to update.
I was however upgrading from the F4 and not the F3 BIOS.

I'm usually 100% happy upgrading a BIOS from within Windows, however as I wanted to update first the primary BIOS and then update the backup BIOS from the Primary it just all seemed a lot easier doing it from within the BIOS.

I can confirm that the copy of the F5 BIOS I have mirrored on my site is 100% OK as I used it to upgrade myself:

Thanks Stoofa,

Will give your version a try tonight.
Will also try F3 - F4 - F5 and see if that works.

Cheers

I also had problems with the @BIOS from the gigabyte website.

However, the version on the Motherboard CD works fine.

I've personally had the best results with Bios Version: F5c.... I'm running an e6300 @500x7 on air cooling

Hoping for somewhere near to that myself.
