Woke up this morning to find my pc had rebooted but couldnt find the hard disk.
It is not showing in the Standard CMOS Features screen, however Im sure the disk is OK.
When I checked the PC Health Status screen it is showing FAIL on all the power inputs?

I have tried another PSU and I get the same readings.
Do you think the bios is corrupt?

System is as follows
DS4 motherboard, F6 bios
E6600 C2D
FSP 500w PSU
ATI X300
80G Maxtor SATA
Samsung CD/DVD

I have tried the hard disk in another system and the bios wont recognise it, so I guess its died.
Does anyone have any idea why the PC Health screen is showing FAIL for the Vcore, DDR18V, +3.3v, and +12v.
I have tested the M/Board with 2 PSUs and this happens with both.
I have reflashed the bios using QFlash and its made no difference.
 
The missing hard disk is a bug with the DS4. I have the same problem in the morning on first power up. I have to power off and on until it appears again. Hopefully they will fix it in the next bios.

I would not worry about the DDR2 memory fail it is just indicating that you are running your ram at +.3v or more.

Thanks jezzag, yes the hard disk is dead, tbh Im concerned about the bios showing FAIL on the voltages instead of OK as both PSUs Ive tried are OK.
Im wondering if there is a problem with the M/Board itself.
 
It does sound like your motherboard is messed up. I would say check your voltages in windows with easy tune but that would be a bit hard without a hard disk. If both PSU's are showing the same problem and your hard disk has died it sounds like you need to RMA the board.

the strange thing is that it boots up OK and the temps in bios are as should be.
If I alter the cpu voltage the temp rises as if there isnt a problem.
If the bios wasnt showing FAIL on the voltages Id swear there wasnt anything wrong.
 
Ive done a fresh install of Windows XP Home SP2 using a different hard disk.
EasyTune 5 is showing the voltages as follows
VcoreA 4.130
+3.3v 4.080
+12v 14.14
CPUvid 1.32
Its showing this using both a Enermax 460w PSU and a FSP 500w PSU.
Does anyone know what the voltages should show as the top 3 look very dodgy to me?

What does the bios read for voltages?

The bios values are:
Vcore FAIL
DDR18 FAIL
+3.3v FAIL
+12v FAIL
It dosent show the voltage readings, only OK or FAIL.
 
Mmmm, and if you reset the bios using the jumper on the motherboard and then run the system at defaults what does it say?
 
I get the same.
Ive reflashed the bios using QFlash and in Windows using the bios update prog.
I set the bios to default before flashing and after, then cleared CMOS with the battery out, then adjusted the settings for ram only as it needs 2.0v to boot.
I dont really understand it myself because it has been working fine for 5 weeks.
 
Aye, Ive been building and overclocking PCs for over 5 years and its a new one on me.
Ive never had a motherboard loose its voltage stability before.
Ive killed 2 by overclocking the pants off them, but ive been quite gentle with my DS4, only taking it to 300 fsb.
I had bought it with the intention of replacing my A64 Opteron workstation with a DS4/C2D set-up.
Ah well Ill let Gigabyte sort it out, hopefully all will be fine by Xmas.

Its a cold boot issue with the Intel ICH8R contoller. It fails to find one of the disks. When using bios 7b it hardly happened but on the official 6 I get it everyday. I have seen other posts on other forums with the same problems. I think it depends on which hard disk have. I'm using 2 Matrox Diamond Max 10 250Gb Raid 0. Just waiting for the new official bios now :)
