OK, basically wondering what's going to happen. I tried to update the BIOS, and it started going into a reboot cycle... I then removed the onboard battery to clear the CMOS to see if that would help, left it for a minute, placed the battery back in and then it failed to post or even turn on, it powered up but it didn't come back on, on the screen, the mobo is definately screwed to my knowledge, firstly, does anyone know of anything I might be able to do to save this motherboard as I'd rather not go through the hassle of a replacement and secondly, if I have to replace it, do you think they'll accept the r.m.a considering I got it on 15th. of January and I was only following the instructions given in the manual? I replaced the processor cover on the LGA775 slot and included as many of the cables as I could find, the SATA and IDE cables, screws etc. What do you think, will they RMA?

Many thanks for all your help.

If it doesn't boot then you should have no problems getting it RMA'ed.

Try leaving the battery out for an hour, and then booting with no drives and only one memory stick inserted.

that's what I thought, I've already taken the whole PC apart lol, is it worth re-assembling to give that a go? Like I said, if you really think it is I'd do it to avoid the hassle of posting it off again...

I would certainly try it.

Because if they can get it to boot then they'll charge you a handling fee.

Hey guys, the suggestions worked =D To my great delight you've saved me both time & money and now I know how to tackle the problem in future should it occur again. Thankyou very much!
