Hello

I'm running an E6400 @ 3.6Ghz on a GA-965P-DS4 atm. The lowest available setting for the RAM multiplier is 2, which means currently the RAM is overclocked by 100mhz.
I want to go higher, but I think the RAM might be throttling me and I can't lower the multiplier any more.
Is there a way to lower it further? A new bios revision or?

Cheers

I assume you have loosened the timings and raised the vdimm?

If you have then better memory is your only option.

But 3.6ghz is very good for an E6400.

Nope the timings are still stock 4-4-4-12 and the vdimm is +0.3 (the RAM is specced as 2.3v).
I was hoping to do the full job without having to push the RAM.

Oh and the 3.6 OC is only stable until I start stress testing. That's with the RAM at 900Mhz. I've proved that it's the RAM causing me grief as I tried putting the FSB down to 225 and the RAM multiplier to 4 (=900) and got the same BSOD while stress testing, or doing a standard memtest.

Stable at 3.2Ghz though, 40C in TAT, which is the max to get stock speed on the RAM.

2 sets of Geil 4-4-4-12 512mb x 2 PC6400

Orly Justintime?

I thought the base was 2.0, don't ask me why. Will give it a go. Ta!
