Does the little yellow light come on every time the DSC is called into action?

I ask because I have excessively dirty front wheels, which leads to me to suspect that the DSC is braking the front wheels when I'm cornering heavily at speed.
The light only comes on for me when the rears lose traction. And it's usually 3 flashes.

It should flash the DSC light, yes. Even if the light wasn't illuminating, it should also be bloody obvious when DSC does kick in.

You should be able to feel it?
But yes the light flashing is it saving your ass. :p

Learn to drive the car so you don't make the light flash!

The light does not always flash when certain subsystems of DSC are functioning i.e. CBC, which you may be feeling if you are braking while cornering.

CBC feels like a small change in brake pressure (it feels like it's reducing brake force by a small amount).

I didn't think DSC braked the front wheels? only the drive wheels?

I know my light doesn't come on when my CBC kicks in, you can just feel it braking one wheel more than the other

If you have all the options DSC can do just about everything other than drift for you. However, all versions of DSC can brake any wheel individually.

Maybe it's just my heavy braking and a build up over a couple of months then :p

I certainly don't feel anything when entering a corner too quickly other than understeer ;)

Does that mean that my DSC brakes the front wheels as well? I agree with mjt, mine just understeers if I go a bit mental

Your DSC will do all sorts. If you enter a corner at lol speed and just yank the steering wheel e.g. right, inducing hilarity understeer, it will brake all four wheels ABS-stylee in an attempt to get the car to slow down. When it has some grip, it will then try to turn you by braking the offside wheels.
