DSi - Major problem

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right forum for it but i have a DSi a customer brought in, it has a major problem, not sure if anyone can help.

I can guess the customer was probably using R4i cards - it starts fine and loads menu fine, but as soon as i click any icon except camera, it says "An error has occurred. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi operations manual for details".

I tried removing the battery to wait for the system to reset but it does nothing contrary to google opinions

i really can't work out what the problem is so any help would be great

Them cards are also illegal over here, but I've never heard of 1 doing that to a DS

Have you tried updating the firmware?

It sounds like a game might have updated the DSi's firmware, and making the dodgy card unusable. If they wait a little while, the dodgy card makers might release their card's firmware update to catch up.

Again this is illegal, and I don't condone their use.
