Hi

First thing is check you have got the latest firmware for the router check by going to Dlinks FTP server Here

Select your model and download the most recent firmware it there is one more recent than the one you are already running

am i right in saying you can download but not upload, if so then try a programme called DrTCP this may sort the issue out

your line attenuation is very high and is the likely cause of rhe disconnections. try connectig the modem directly to your master bt socket snd check the stats also if possible try from the test port inside the master socket. What you are looking for is a increase in the sync rates on the upstream and downstream and and decrease in the line Attenuation as 63 is VERY high

thanks again,
it is plugged in to the master socket and there isnt a test port inside either, i have tried a shorter cable with the router closer to the socket and nothing changes, do i need to phone orange/bt

thanks

FIrst thing I would try if possible it use a different router just to see if you get better line stats as the 604+ is pretty old now and a more upto date router might work better so if you can borrow one from a friend just to check the stats with.

otherwise yes get onto Orange explain about the disconnections and the high line Attenuation.

The high attenuation is more than likely related to his line length, I would guess about 5-6KM in length. If you get hold of Orange tech, ask them if they can tell you your actual line length.
