Hey Guys,

I'm in a dilemma at the moment, I can either get a Water cooled case which would be sick. But it would be cooling some crap components, or I could blow the £470 on a Digital SLR?

Sooooo what could I get for £470, I am currently a half noob at photography, I'm just shy about posting any of my pictures.

What can you come up with?

Regards,

Matt.

Ok Thanks,

I have just been looking on an auction site at a Sony DSLR A-100?

Any good?

Also could some one give me some advice on one of my photo's if I posted it please?

1. The Sony A100 is not a bad camera. It has a minolta mount, so you can use the minolta system of lenses. Most people would advise a Nikon or Canon due to the more expansive system behind them.

2. Of course. Post away (I suggest starting a new thread though).

Yes, it's probably got the best overall spec. of any of the budget DSLRs & it takes very decent pics (tbh there isn't a really bad DSLR, they are all competent).
As for lenses, apart from all the Minolta/Sony lenses there are of course 3rd party lenses available from the likes of Sigma, Tamron etc.
Whilst some of the really exotic lenses aren't available the average person wouldn't have a need for those anyway & of course every lens fitted to a A100 is image stabilised unlike on CaNikon.

It should be available with the kit 18-70mm for just over £400 or so without resorting to auction.

Yeah there really isn't such a thing as a 'bad' DSLR.

The best advice would probably be to to go down your highstreet camera shot and ask to have a play with the different cameras, and see which one you like the feel of most.

The Sony is a very well specced camera for the price, although there may be some wisdom in choosing canon or nikon, simply because they are the maket leaders and there is a huge amount of information and support available on the web, as well as a huge range of lenses and equipment, and good third party compatibility.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the comments,

Below I have posted some pics, I couldn't be bothered with creating a new thread.

First one is ok. But the subject is too close to the middle of the frame.(Have a read up on the rule of thirds)
Second one is quite nice. Could do with a tad more saturation and contrast, but not bad at all. Could also benefit from some sort of focal point, as my eye is wandering around the image.
Third one is meh! to be honest. Its out of focus and generally isn't a great picture im afraid.
Fourth one is nice and shows the most potential. :) Sorry if I maybe come across as harsh, but I persoanlly prefer honesty, so thats what I dish out myself. :)

Thanks for the comments,

The one's I added are the one's I could fine tbh. I added No.3 because it's a personal favourite, No.4 is my favourite of the bunch. But they rest have no meaning at all.

But Thanks anyway, what I have said above is not me trying to get out of what you said about the images, it's the truth lol.
