Now that there are soundcards that integrate this, will it move to motherboard much like dolby digital live? I vertainly know I'd like the flexibility when I upgrade to conroe this summer, and considering the chips used are replacement for existing ddl ones...

The DDL and DTS components are still pretty pricy parts, so they're not likely to make it into the motherboard anytime soon.
At the moment, only a few cards have this, which means it hasn't really dawned on most people what the advantages of having DDL or better really are. Until the market really votes with it's cash and demands DDL, then you can guarantee the motherboard manufacturers will keep it off board to save pennies.
This is one of the reasons NVidia gave when they shelved SoundStorm for the NForce 3+ boards.
