I have looked in my mobo manual to see if my board can take dual channel memory and i can't seem to find anything in there about dual channel, could someone tell me if my boad supports it,i have a MSI KT3 ULTRA2 and currently have 512mb of pc2700 ram,im looking at getting 2gb of ram but im stuck as what to go for,do i go for pc3200,pc2700,dual channel,cl2.5,cl3,crucial or corsair any response would be much appreciated.....cheers.

a quick google search say no - it does not support dual channel ram.

dependant on the rest of your setup i would maybe advise getting a better motherboard and 1gb of ram rather than 2gb in an old motherboard.

Worth posting the rest of your rig so that people can advise a better route for you to go down. :D

I gots a Clawhammer 3700 and asus K8N-E with 1 gig of ram that i bought paired, my mobo is socket 754 which i dont think supports dual channel at all well mine def doesnt.

Doesnt matter if u buy dual channel ram and put it in ** board, it will just work in single channel mode. The difference isnt ridiculosu between the two.

Just get 2x 512 or 2x 1024, 3200 will be aight.

DDR on 754 sockets

DDR IS supported on Socket 754 boards!!

I have just purchased some DDR Corsair Value Ram and use it on my MSI Socket 754 3200+ Board!!!

Cheers.

DDR is double data rate, so data is transmitted on both the rising and falling end of each clock cycle

Dual channel is where there are two lanes of communication between ram and cpu/northbridge
