get either, they will both be good :) well thats if you cant tell stepping either one is. going to be an unknown quantity as to how far it will overclock.
if you can tell stepping on both chips then obviously post them here and people will tell you which one is the better bet to overclock the farthest

Ive just ordered a 165 CCBBE 0615EPMW, which is meant to ge a great stepping for 2.8/3ghz... got it off ebay, but coming from states... £120 delivered!!!

There are 19 available!!!

ill try and get the stepping information asap

My opteron 165 is stepping CCB1E 0609 FPMW. I have an asus a8n32 sli deluxe motherboard at stock volts. My memory is corsair 3500LL pro.My FSB is 317mhz and my cpu is the denmark core. Mem timing are 3,3,3,8.I am air cooled also, i use the artic 7 pro cooler, and my pc is really quiet. Hope this helps ya.

I have just found one at a UK Seller for £115 with delivery. That is pretty cheap.

I may sell my 3000+ on the bay and upgrade. Well worth the upgrade to dual core for peanuts.

Your welcome. I paid over the odds for my opteron 165. I got it for £180 , 2 months ago, but i knew it was a good one.Ive had it to 3,1 ghz but my own in-ability to overclock stopped me going more or stable. But at 2.85ghz im way happy, my pc flys and my games run a lot better, once u get over 2.5ghz your pc comes alive, i really did feel a good difference. And i think the new xeons will do well if intel keep the price right.

Only get an opti 165 if the stepping is good.I once bought one for £130 and it wouldnt go over 2.3 ghz, it was crap.So i sold it on ebay and i got this one, which im way happy with.

don't be surprise if they tell you is not in stock a that price and if you want one you have to pay £60 more.

It happened twice to me last month and still waiting for the money back in one of them

i have managed to find about 5 supplyers with them in stock aparenly i have emailed them all to see if they can give me any info on the steppings

they range from £120 - £130

have you tried from america? i bought an X2 3800+ from america ages ago but i saved ~£60 on the price it cost over here, and that was including the 20 odd quid i paid for postage

only bad thingm, it did take 2 weeks to arrive and if it died i'd never realistically be able to return it, still going strong 6months down the line though :)
