Dual core, so what uses it and how do you control yours?

I played version 2.7 up until a couple weeks back when I upgraded from my X2 to C2D. Didn't reinstall it after putting my new hardware in. Might have to give it another go if they've released some more updates! :)

I leave XP to sort out mine, never had any problems with it, saying that though, I've never really seen a benefit over single core.

Then you're not pressing your computer hard enough. I can notice the difference between my 3700+ and 4400X2 straight away, once I do heavy CPU processes. I used my X2 to rip and encode my music collection, whilst it was doing that I could play games. Oblivion didn't even slow down.

About a month ago on my HTPC I re-encoded the Flac files to Mp3 so they can be played on a standard Mp3 player. Massive slow down, I couldn't play a movie whilst it was doing that. So I just did the batch conversion during the night and paused it when I needed to use the HTPC again.

Nice, night have to reinstall it then and give it a crack! :D

Can't wait for the proper release though!!

off topic, but when you look at it again, remember this... ALLL that eye candy, is done with shader model 2! it just goes to show you how utterly useless sm3 really was.

i know gay men that work as drag queens that put less drama into any given situation than you just did...

it was a personal opinion, not a request for a slanging match, its just that supreme commander really does show just how much life was left in SM2 if SM2 is processed with certain effects. the thing that makes SupCom good is a graphical option called fidelity.

It was a joke, obviously you didn't get it.

As for my previous post, it had as much value as debating if Intel is the dark side.

i liked the fact i can burn an image file to dvd whilst installing a game from the hdd whilst browsing the internet with no slowdowns whatsoever. this may be the 2gb ram though.

i dont like the fact it wont boot and im back on an xp2100 and 512mb of ddr1 ram and now it seems slower than it did before. sniff.
