Dual monitor display, is this card good enough?

Any graphics card can handle the dual monitors as long as they have the 2 ports and you wont be playing games on them :)
 
It will handle it yes but are you sure you want different brightness levels etc (or to manually adjust each vga monitor - as dvi will adjust automatically)

Why not spend a little more and get a basic card with two dvi ports?

Because, the dual dvi cards I was going to get is not sold by our supplier anymore and we can only buy from certain suppliers (High Education institutes are very fussy). But thanks for your comments; I might use it to persuade them to buy the dual dvi's I want from someone else.

They will be for work only, but the different brightness levels is not doing it for me.

Any card with two ports will do you.

Hell, after getting my boss to agree and supply a spare CRT monitor, I brough a pair of old 4MB Matrox Millenium PCI cards into work and fitted them. They run 1280x1024 (16-Bit colour) on a pair of 17" TFTs with no issues.

For my Job, its a great setup for next to nothing.

Can anyone please recommend a cheap card with two dvi ports? I won't be gaming with the card. Thanks.

I'm planning on a simple 17" dual setup. Planning on getting the 17" Hyundai ImageQuest B71A but it has no DVI input.

If you after a cheap agp card with 2 dvi ports, afaik your out of luck i havnt seen a cheap dual dvi card.
The only cards that did were 6800gt/u and pro cards.

edit - 256MB XFX GEFORCE 6800XT AGP DDR3 DUAL DVI

a quick google should get you that *cough* first link*cough*, i cant say due to faq rules.

thanks. Don't know if it is worth £85 just to get dual screen. Probably get a £40 card and just cope with one plugged into a VGA and other plugged into DVI (convert from VGA).
