Dual Monitor Games?

You mean like, the action etc on one screen... and like the hud/map/whatever on the other?

I think someone was creating a game like that, but i can't for the life of me remember what it was.

If you mean just the game spread across two screens... i believe you just changed the resolution or set it up to play on both monitors?

I have seen a BF2 add on that did that have the map on the other screen, but i meant have the game span 2 monitors. Is it possible

You should be able to set it up in your graphics settings. There should be an option called "extended desktop"...

yet i havnt actually seen it used in-game

I have just got CS:Source Sprawled across 2 monitors!!! Look immense to say the least!

Benjo : Extend desktop doesnt work youve got to do it another way, extend makes an entirley new desktop, you've got to go in the catalyst and stretch it across 2. My Res at the mo is 2560x1024 :p

I dont know why i never thought of getting my unused 17"tft hooked up

Im using high settings and 4aa 8af? why is it bad?

Just had a quick game, its extremely hard to play with the bit in the middle.

If theres some in front of you theres half on one screen and the other half on the other screen.

A bad thing is im not able to get a movie to play on both sides?

Yes. Dont know if there is a way to move the crosshair more to the right or left, the crosshair is split over each side :p.

Is there anyway to get a movie to play on both sides, if i pay a dvd and place the movie half and half one side is blank and the other is playing half of the movie??

^Whats the 7800GT like? Ive also got a IC7-G, hows it handle on the board? Whats your 3d mark like? MInes 6500 at the mo. In your opinion do you think its worth an upgrade?

Its up to you mate, i havnt really came to a conclusion, used it just today. It has been very handy though, i can have dvd on one and internet on the other.

If you can afford to get another monitor i would.

CS SOurce does look amazing on 2 monitors extremely widescreen!

Nope, i'm only a teen, so I am on a really tight budget :( It'd be better to just buy a widescreen monitor later down the line.

I'll try this when I get home - visiting parents just now - I've got a VX2025 and a VP171s so should be able to get 2960*1024. The beauty of it is that if it works, the split won't be central so although I'll have a big black line down the screen, my crosshair won't be split by it.

Also, I think the latest flight sim from MS can have the controls on one screen and the main view on another.

Pop into the thread in the graphics forum for lots of discussion on it.

I upgraded from a 9800XT to the 7800GT and I have no regrets. My 3D mark scores doubled instantly and are comparable with many newer systems (i.e. the CPU isn't that much of a bottleneck). More importantly I can play new games at decent settings. Oblivion looks fantastic, and I can play Tomb Raider Legend with Next Gen turned on. It also has two DVI ports for dual monitor goodness :D. There was a lot of debate on spending the same about of cash on a socket 478 board and PCIE card, or event go as far as replacing the CPU as well for the same price, however the IC7G is such a fantastic board.

3D mark scores are:

01: 20725
03: 14691
05: 6373
06: 3352
