Pop into the thread in the graphics forum for lots of discussion on it.

I upgraded from a 9800XT to the 7800GT and I have no regrets. My 3D mark scores doubled instantly and are comparable with many newer systems (i.e. the CPU isn't that much of a bottleneck). More importantly I can play new games at decent settings. Oblivion looks fantastic, and I can play Tomb Raider Legend with Next Gen turned on. It also has two DVI ports for dual monitor goodness :D. There was a lot of debate on spending the same about of cash on a socket 478 board and PCIE card, or event go as far as replacing the CPU as well for the same price, however the IC7G is such a fantastic board.

3D mark scores are:

01: 20725
03: 14691
05: 6373
06: 3352

I get 6500 on 3dmark05, thats a tad strange, i did get 100 points increase when i increased 100Mhz on my P4 though. at 3.4Ghz now from stock 3.0ghz, have you tried overclocking it yet?

What clocks have you achieved on you 7800? Or isnt there any need?

Everything is as stock, I'm going to try a bit of overclocking but right now I'm playing all the games I have perfectly fine, and so am a little scared wasting all the dosh by cooking it :D I'd imagine the difference is the overclocked-ness of your CPU. Apart from that I'm not sure, as my 3D mark score looks to sit in the same set of scores with other people in ORB.

I'd be really interested in this. I'm going on a google hunt for it - but does anyone have any links?

I cant for the death of me remeber what it was called, search stuff like BF2 dual monitor map or something. Or go on TotalBF2 and ask someone.

Yeh have tried a few variations and haven't come up with much. Will try totalbf2 in a bit.

Not much of a 'game' :) but MS Flight Sim 2004 will allow you to spread the main view, instruments etc across 2 monitors. It runs the individual bits as separate windows which you can place anywhere across the twin desktop.

Is there anybody with SLI or crossfire that can try 3 monitors, that would be much better for split screen seeing as the middle panel would be for action and the 2 either side for the panoramic view :)

I have seen a BF2 add on that did that have the map on the other screen, but i meant have the game span 2 monitors. Is it possible
yes mate very possible, got two monitors here... but i normally turn one off and go to single monitor mode when gaming as IMO its just a pain in the backside having the little gap in the middle where the monitor frame is.

some games work fine over dual screens, some tend to just turn off the other monitor themselves, others tend to stay at the default resolution of one monitor but appear in the middle of the two displays... with a nice black outline on the left/right sides

I use to play EQ2 with a duel monitor setup. Ran it in windowed mode, set the letterbox to full and displayed the duel windows virtically. Required a bit of messing about to set it up but once done and settings saved to change the duel monitor setup on loading the game it was sweet. Nice MMG without any bars and maps hidieng the actual screen.

then of course you could go right over the top !
