I'm trying to set up my two LG w2234s Monitors too run.

both are connected to my graphics card but only one seems to be recognised as a w2234s.

any idea how to get the other one the same?

the other just shows up as a Generic Non-PnP Monitor.

At a guess, is one via DVI and one via VGA? It shouldn't matter really. If you are limited in the resolutions you can select, then if you head to the LG website and download the drivers and install manually, you'll be sorted :).

both ports out of the graphics card are dvi - converted to vga in the back of the monitors.

can't find the drivers for the montiors though :(

I'm sorry, I've only ever read threads about dual monitors but not had the privilege to set it up myself.

I've heard good things about ULTRAMON. You may try looking into applications of this ilk to see if they offer assistance with windows integration.

I hope that helps.

Oh and here's a super fast tutorial on how to setup eyefinity (this vid sets up three monitors).

I know you have two monitors but maybe watching their process will identify a step you've missed. Looks like you're using ATI so that fits with this video and I know that eyefinity works for dual screen.

Are you using eyefinity? Did you watch that video to see if you missed any steps? Did you look if ULTRAMON contains resolution features?

The key is to trick Windows into thinking that you have a massively wide resolution and that's what eyefinity does.

You won't find monitor specific drivers, they usually aren't required.

Well I've helped all I can, hopefully someone else can chirp in. Looks like eyefinity only supports the 5xxx series anyway.

Maybe check out the recommendations on this site:

With both displays on, open CCC and go to displays Manager. Under display properties there should be two monitors. If you're in clone mode right now, right click the monitor under clone mode and simply click "Extend main onto digital panel" or something along those lines. You will then be able to change resolutions and settings by clicking the number in the picture that corresponds to the monitor you want to manipulate.

Well I guess it worked then... no need to check back here or say if it did or not.

Gotta love ppl like this. I'll remember you're name and keep this in mind for next time matey.

Glad to be of help!

er...maybe next time you want to wait abit longer before you start slagging people off.

My internet has been down for a fews days - hope thats ok with you?

if not maybe next time leave my your mobile number and i'll ring you up to let you know how i've got on.

For those less rude people -

the problem seemed to be the cables i was using - not sure how/why but when i changed cables the pc was able to recognise the monitor and provide the correct resolution.
