Dual monitor setup worth it?

i used to run dual TFTs and never ever managed to get them setup so i could game on one screen and browse the web on the other

i could multi-task in windows fine, do all the regular things etc.... but as soon as a game loaded that wanted to go fullscreen it would either

a) go fullscreen but over two mintors
b) use only one monitor and the other would go blank
c) mimick what was on the other screen

ever tried ultramon?

ultra who with the what now?

ultramon is a program for multiple monitor set up, it opens up a load of features, from simple things like extended taskbar to the other monitors, wallpaperr settings (single across, different...etc). Basically a must have for mulitple monitor setup.

I once borrowed my house mates TFT and put it next to mine. While it was great for office type things it was pointless for games because the only way to move the cursor our of the games monitor was to alt-tab, basically minimising the game in the process, which kind of defeats the point somewhat.

So I got a 2nd PC instead :p

Imagine if you can just move the mouse off screen onto the windows screen, what if you are in a FPS, where the mouse is moving all the time to view and pan, how do you know when to move to the windows environment?

The mouse doesn't move off the main screen when your in a game. You have to minimise the game like you would on a single screen. Its pointless. 2 PC's for the win :p

I only tried it briefly but i played PES5 full screen on one monitor and was able to use the mouse on the other, maybe it dont work that way for games using the mouse in the controls tho

dual-monitors is not suitable for gaming. but, if you work on you're computer then dual monitors can double you screen space. great for all sorts of things. i use my laptop so is in essence a "third monitor" however, i can still use that when i game so that i can chat on msn/irc and browse the web etc. so dual monitors and dual pc's for the win.

two 17" or one 19" ?

Hi, readng this thread I was thinking maybe to buy two 17" "medium quality" monitors (which model?) rather than one good 19" (vp930)...
any thoughts?

ps. still no reviews on the LG L1970HR...
