Dual all the way! NEVER install 1 stick, you halve the bandwidth and performance sucks!
what I mean is that I have 2 slots for more mem so I was going to put a gig in each 1 and still have the 2 512 so I will have 3 gig pc3200 but only single channel.
Buy the way is there faster mem DDR 1 or is pc3200 it, I know DDr2 will not fit in
my 939 lanparty as they have more pins than DDr1.
what is the best mem to get for OCing, which is able to go beond 400mhz with out to much fuss.

I'm pretty sure if your using a A64 based part (Includes the X2 processors), that they don't see a huge performance increase going from single channel to dual channel, because they already have plenty of bandwidth....can't remember where I read it now.
