dual/single ddr2.

Hi folks,

I've got 4x1gb of crucial pc8500 and have managed to bork a stick. So now it's a choice between running 2x1gb in dual channel mode or 3x1gb in single channel.

Are the gains big enough with dual channel to sacrafice another gb of ram or shall i just keep it in single chan and wait until i can get my hands on a 4x2gb kit.

Hi ck put in the 3gb, any loss over dual channel will be minimal, and the extra RAM would more than make up for it.

I take it you are going to be running 64bit OS for the 8gb RAM?
