Was just browsing a competitor site and came across both the black and white colours of the new Dualshock 3.

I didnt think these were here yet?

The description gives no indication that its an import, and i wouldn't have thought this site would sell imports.

Quite expensive though, already imported one over so won't be buying from there, but was quite shocked they had them.

They are imports, guaranteed. They are not available in the UK through "official" channels. Plus they will come to the USA 1st (I think Sony have stated vague US time frame, and an even vaguer EU one for the future).

If the ones in the site/shop you use are more than 36 quid, it will be cheaper to import them yourself.

Yea i thought they were, thanks for the clarification. Im not sure if i can say price, but roughly £40 including delivery.

I got mine elsewhere for £34 delivered, which i tohught was a good deal

Nah, you can't say the competitor (or hint - which is worse) but you can mention prices :).
£34 isn't bad. Makes me angry that I got a Six-Axis for £35 on launch day. Grr.

got mine today in the post from japan

my dad was over there on business and paid about £25 for it

1up believe it will appear in the States with GT Prologue. Makes sense as thats also a week before GTA 4. Maybe we'll get lucky :)

It will be released alongside Prologue I reckon in a similar way to how ps1 dual shock appeared with the original Gran Turismo game (if memory serves me correctly).

It did indeed. What a weekend that was. Resident Evil 2, Gran Turismo and Dual Shock all at the same time :D.

Fairly sure Dual Shock + Gran Turismo + Big rented telly almost made me fail my 1st year at uni (only just scraped through due to many sleepless nights playing GT!! :))

How much were they at forbidden planet then needles??, as that has shocked me that they had them in stock, even more so that the staff would know what they are.

im a console noob and buying my ps3 next week. Im gonna ask the dumb Q.

Whats the difference between the DS3 and 6axis? the photos look identical

The SixAxis is the normal one that you get with all consoles which has the movement stuff in it.

The DualShock 3 is new and only available in the far east atm (coming to USA later and then EU later) has vibration as well as movement stuff.

Some people on these forums have imported the Dual Shock 3 ones (like me!). A lot of these people think the deadzones on the analog sticks are better than the older controllers, some people say they are the same (like me!). Certainly the new ones have a different colour/quality plastic as well. But the main addition is the "RUMBLE". They cost about £35 imported form competitor sites, and as you can can see from this thread, some other shops sell them as well.
