For those of you who played the the old classic duke 3d its now back and has been ported over to xp i dont no if this has allready been posted befor but here is the link to it , i personally loved this game back in the day ahh the memorys :D

http://hrpupdate.duke4.net/index.html

Oh and its all high res textures so its dont look as blocky as it did in dos.well worth a look if you got some time to kill.

if u liked the origional u will love this, controls dead easy to set up unlike the old dos version and the gfx are vastely inproved as it were. cant say it will stress a 8800 thou :D

Hope it works better than the Atomic edition converted over to XP

couldnt use a mouse properly still

will give this a try

thanks mate! :D

I had an OpenGL port but I can't remember which one it was. I don't think it was either of those mentioned on that site.

...and im all out of gum :D
I've seen the film that quote is nicked from. Can't remember what it was called, but it was basically about how aliens have taken over the world without anyone knowing by putting subliminal messages in adverts and you can only conciously see these messages if you wear special sunglasses. It's a crap film but funny :p

can you jump thru walls on this version like the original? ;)

or hide inside of mirrors, or throw pipebombs thru walls etc :)
used to be so funny in tourneys.

Can you play this online?

I remember the old days when you had to use some program to allow you to do it. Gameplay online or something like that.

Oh and Kali i think.

Kali was bad :( think it came pretty late in the days of duke3d.

Wireplay was excellent tho :)
(wireplay was bought out by gameplay who took the logo)

There was also a 3drealms online thing in america I think.

I don't think you needed to download anything to play it online as it already had support for network and also you could use direct dialup access for faster 1v1's etc.
