I want to get am SSD for my boot [windows 7 x64].

As I REALLY don't want to re-install everything I have on my current C: drive, what is the best [free/cheapest] software that I can use to get my current C: to the SSD C:?

Thanks
Mike

Most, if not all, the drive manufacturers will have drive cloning software freely available.

Can you get a trial version of Acronis?

If so:

1. Backup your system as disk partitions to another drive
2. Install your SSD into the PC and do a basic build of W7 onto it
3. Boot back to your orignal
4. Using Acronis restore the NTFS partion only to the SSD
5. Then restore the MBR bit to the SSD
6. Test the boot sequence.

I did this last night on a 120GB Vertex 2. Have a search on the OCZ forum for the full process.
