dumb question of the day?

I went from a E6300 to a Q6600 and all I got was BSOD's, no matter what I tried, that was Vista, had to re-install in the end.

Recently I changed mobo from a DS3 to an Abit IP35 and it worked from the off, keep meaning to do a re-install though.
