I prefer gas hobs, with electric ovens. My grandparents recently bought a gas oven. It is tiny since the flames go up the back so the trays can't go all the way to the back. Food keeps getting burnt.
The one we have the flames are along the bottom, under a tray to catch stuff falling down, although there are gaps. I know in the small oven theres like a gas pipe (so to speak) running central that has the flames coming out. Big oven, not sure.
I've had stuff boiling over on 2 or 3 setting.Yeah, or even just turn it down. Keeping something at a simmer is a nightmare; you have to anticipate its boiling by about a minute and turn the hob down in advance.
