Dune

Both are exceptional for different reasons.
There's a kinda fan cut on the net that adds a lot of deleted scenes and un effects, no blue eyes.
It explains more of the back story too.

You want Spicediver's fanedit. He did three separate edits inserting all known available footage into a near three hour film. Some footage is of poor quality but defiantly adds more back story and understanding to the Dune universe. The opening narrative is quite important. Spicediver's V2.0 I think is the better edit.

I think the blue eye saturation was done poorly in the original film and lacked continuity. The film was originally intended to be three hours long, but Lynch was forced to remove a hefty chuck of narrative. There were problems with the production company and also the filming in Mexico was a challenge.

I first saw parts of the film when I was 10 and it scared me - I would later see it again, but as a teenager round a friend's house and it has always intrigued me since.

I've always wanted to like the original Dune. The whole premise of the movie, the costume design, the sets, all good but my goodness is it poorly held together and bloody boring...

David Lynch movie is one of my favourites. I've got the extended version sitting on my nas, not got around to watching it yet.

I love the sound of Jodorowsky's vision. I think I read somewhere that all the concept artwork is still around. Could be cool if he was involved in a new movie. Or, perhaps a big budget tv show on hbo or netflix, then they wouldn't have to cut out so much.

Are we saying if there was ever a film that needed a remake or moreso a book that needed treating to a well produce film its this ?
