Hi ALl,

My son needs a new gaming headset but he is so rough with things I need something durable, sound quality is not really important just something that works and will last. Any Suggestions?

You might be better off just going down the route of buying really cheap headsets and replacing when they break. They're generally not the most durable items in my experience.

+1

Headsets require a bit more care and are prone to break if not looked after properly. An entry model would be probably be best

I can vouch for the Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset - about the £40 mark and mine has been dropped, stood on and generally abused for 2-3 years and still is perfect. The sound quality is sweet too.

Yea, I was afraid of that, hes broken 3 in the last 2 years though so was hoping there was something a bit more durable.

He destryed a 380 in record time, I don't know how much more robust the 780 is.

Sennheiser PC310,

Basically the re-released PC150's

I had a pair of PC150's that lasted 10 years of abuse/house moves/lans and they are still working fine only replaced because the headband was weakening.

PC310's have a better build quality, great headset

Thanks, I'll check it out.

if your willing to break the bank a little, Corsair Vengeance 2000 or even the 2100 are amazing headsets. The wireless and sound quality is superb, as is the microphone quality.

Creative Fatal1ty :)
I used mine for 2 years, very intensive use.
They are cheap for such good quality build plus they are on offer this week:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Creative Fatal1ty HS-800 Gaming Headset £22.99
Total : £26.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Just look at number of positive comments.

Seems like the right price range and the reviews are good as far as durability, We'll see if they last more than the 6 months his last ones did.
