Hi, guys.

Are there any 'fitted' mods for the Ford (Mazda) Duratec HE engine, or anybody that offers them?

I know there are places which will sell kits for enlarged throttle bodies/etc., but I have no intention of doing the work myself, so would like to know if anybody has tried this sort of thing before?

Google isn't much help, but I may well be searching for the wrong thing (stick in "VW 1.9TDi tuning" and there is loads, for example). Any advicde would be greatly appreciated.

Buy another car ;)

You can get cams and throttle bodies + better management, but doing so will affect economy severely and hinder day to day driving ability.

A lot of tuning options will give you more power, but higher up the rev range, do you really want to be driving your MPV like a Type-R?

Not at all, hence the question... the responses thus far are very useful.

So it seems the Duratec HE is a bit of a duffer in terms of "across the range" power increases?

Oh, well...

very little gain

I would say 400bhp was a little gain. I do agree with the expensive bit though.

I have a Cosworth 260 unit that I've been building over the last two years to go in the Westfield next winter - it stands me at about £6K.

Good air filter and full exhaust will see 170bhp on a Fiesta ST, with a remap your looking at 175-180 and then cams could get you 200.
