During an installation of a program....

Is there any way to know or any software that will tell me where is installs things in which directories as well as any registries?

Is there any software that would help me do this?

Some of the excellent Sysinternals utilities should allow you to monitor this. The tools you probably want are FileMon and RegMon, but these look to have been superceeded by Process Monitor.
