Dust...Aaaargh!

I think a lot of it blows in through the window as if all of this is from my skin then I'm surprised I have any left. I dust using the hoover attachment now, using a duster just puts it in the air while the hoover sucks it all up.

At least you'd have HEPA filtered AC to keep the dust down. I always suspect one of the reason why it is so bad in the UK is the lack of AC.

Then you'd hear the endless stories in the UK of legionnaire disease problems.

Are you in a new build?

My new build is way too dusty, When i hoover the carpets the hoover looks like i've had a coke party and hoovered up most of it!!!

Im betting they didnt bother tidying up before putting underlay and then the carpets down.

We have painted most of the rooms now, which has helped cut down on it. But the stuff coming up through the carpets is shocking!

what comes in your window is like black soot from pollution.

Is that not what you are meant to do at a coke party? Hoover it all up ;)

Ever watched the inside of your houses as the sun rays hits in? Seeing all the dust particles always flying in the air in the sunlight.

I live in a small flat with a robo vac, no idea where it comes from either. I almost never have the windows open so I doubt it's that.

I personally assume it's a mix of -
  1. Skin flakes
  2. There was more of it hiding on walls/carpets/floors/roof that you see, and you just disturb it walking around or with pressure. As in it's always been there.
  3. Brought in on shoes or cloths from outside

probably particles of plastic suspended in the air knowing our planet, and there all causing cancer

you probably need to wipe the walls with a wet cloth every week or more to get rid of it all.

also get a big cooling fan with a swivel head, stick a pair of tights or something over it and suck all the crap out of the air

Not according to this one thing I read online:

"Home and car air-conditioning units do not use water to cool the air, so they are not a risk for Legionella growth."

That's crap. They don't use water to cool the air but the cooling of air results in condensation. There's normally a condensate line but it can become blocked. There's your source of legionella.

Cheers for all the suggestions - think I'll look for an AC unit with a decent filter and see how I get on then :)
