dust busting

I did read somewhere years ago that vacuum cleaners can build up a large amount of static but I've never used one in my PC so can't comment really.

I read that too - so it must be true! :D

I find the difference is that with a vacuum nozzle it's sometimes necessary to get quite close to what you're trying to clean to get all the dust off so (being a clumsy sort) I end up wacking stuff with the nozzle. Whereas with a blower you can do an effective clean from further away, but with the downside that some dust may just settle back on what you're cleaning.
 
That's where a dry paintbrush comes in handy :)

All my dusting around the house (computers, peripherals, tech, furniture/shelves) is done with a 2" brush and the hoover. Follow up with damp microfibre if needed.
