Dust filters

Having built my custom case and had the pc running for a few weeks, noticed that it's getting dusty inside, and access isn't great and to remove everything from the case to clean it is a bit of a mission.

So I was thinking fan filters, seen some akasa 140mm ones I can put on the intake fans, but I'm concerned about limiting my airflow.

At present the temps inside the case seem to be pretty good and stable, and I'd rather not sacrifice this as I don't want to damage components with heat.

Will fan filters affect my airflow significantly to affect my temperatures

thats almost impossible to answer
unless someone has same case
and same hardware in it
and same fans at same rpm etc
putting my bottom fan filter in (360mm)
makes about 1c difference to my coolant temp
no difference to my cpu temp or gpu temp
so within margin of error
but an air cooled build may react differently to custom watercooled

The Demciflex filters are probably the best ones to keep the air flowing freely but they also cost the most. Fan filters can affect airflow quite a bit but it varies massively and I don't think anyone has done any testing on this subject although I may be wrong and someone else may know of a site that has done filter testing. Personally I take any hit on airflow rather than have a case full of dust. My 200mm intake fans have filters on them and I found that even though they are pretty fine they were still letting a considerable amount of dust into the case. To remedy this I knicked another pair of the wifes tights and stretched and cut them to fit over the filters giving me a even finer degree of filtration and it's practically eliminated the dust in the case. I still have a decent amount of airflow even though the fans are only running at 600rpm. I have a dust filter fitted to the psu intake position as well although that rarely spins up the fan anyway.

Ok thanks for your replies.

Guess I'll buy some and see what happens. As the case is a converted drawer unit, I'll have to work out a way to seal the edges of the drawer fronts

Hard to tell
What it is you want to seal
Without a picture
But painters caulk is probably what you want
Or silicone caulk maybe
The draw fronts have been screwed together and a fan duct vacuum formed behind them and sikaflexed in place, and they have been hinged.

As per the below images
