I got glasses recently and I'm having such an annoying problem. There's specs of dust on the lenses and I can see them in my vision. I've tried wiping them with the cloth Specsavers gave me, I put my own microfibre cloth across them and I just can't shift the specs of dust.

Is it safe to run them under cold water?

Cheers

Hand soap and warm water, dry with a lint free cloth and normally it can help as it helps to remove the grease etc that builds up as the day goes by.

Been wearing glasses pretty much all my life, so feel the pain but you get used to cleaning them after a while...

You can use water etc but some glasses cleaner with anti static powers would keep the dust away for longer.

Just get yourself some cleaning spray from any optician! Use that and then your microfibre cloth...job done.

If that doesnt work, take them back to the shop...As it might not be dust, it could be particles of hairspray! Some opticians use hairspray to stop the lenses from slipping when they are being cut, and if they arent cleaned properly, it never comes off and affects the vision!

Anyone know how to get rid of the scum between the the lens and frame.... its a right sod to get rid of!

Pop the lens out, my frames aren't screwed in, they are designed to be popped in and so I just pop the lens out every once in a while.

If you have a screw (near the joint [but not the screw for the joint]) then unscrew it, clean lens and the frame, pop back in and bob's your uncle and fanny's your aunt.
