I'm after a DVB-S solution for a laptop; either PCMCIA or USB.

I've seen a couple knocking about eBay, but they were all generic/HK unbranded ones; I'd really much prefer a decent branded one.

I've had a scoot around, and I can't find any, does anyone know of a brand that produces one?

Thanks

I use a Twinhan USB receiver.

Hauppauge and I'm pretty sure Skystar do them. There are quite a few around at various price levels.

If you google you should easily find quite a few.

Cheers, I had a look on the Hauppauge site and could only see PCI ones.

Do you know if any/all of them will work picking up signals abroad?

You asked about DVB-S on a laptop. You need a satellite dish, a suitable lead and a USB or PCI receiver connected to your PC/Laptop.

We are talking about the same thing here?

Yup, on reflection it does sound like a bit of a daft question.

It's going to be used whilst travelling in a camper in France/Spain.

Quick check and I couldn’t find a USB unit by Hauppauge although I’m surprised if they don’t do one.

You could google TechniSat SkyStar USB - or Skystar2 - they are well regarded.

You could double check OcUK – they do some PCI but I couldn't find any USB DVB-S.

It should work anywhere provided you can line up on a satellite of your choice and have a large enough dish for that satellite/location.
A cheap Satellite Meter will help. You could well get better reception in Spain/France than this country.

Felling rather envious.
