Planning to watch a fair bit of the Olympics via DVB-T and Vista Media Center but I'm aware that VMC doesn't support the interactive "red button" features.

Whilst this doesn't usually bother me, when things like the Olympics are on I'll most likely want to use these features to watch various sports.

So the question is, what PVR or just plain viewer software is best when it comes to supporting the interactive features?

if you add the channels 301 302 303 (i think those are the ones, please correct me if im wrong) into vmc and you can watch them by manually going to them.......
iirc there is a registry tweak to allow vmc to find 301 302 303, also makes it easier to record things on bbci (only problem is they dont publish what is on what)

It is indeed 301/302/303, but I don't think you need a registry tweak to enable them - they appeared by default in XP MCE, but they may have changed it for Vista of course.

As for schedule, the Radio Times website sometimes has the listings for the BBCi channels.

There is the Vista Media Centre TV Pack 2008 Update (Codename: Fiji) coming offically in September which will be adding:

Native DVB-S support
MHEG interactive text/subtitles
Favourites lists
Official support for more than 2 tuners, and of differing types

The betas of Fiji also included H264 support but they've removed it from the RTM Build :( the x86 (32bit) RTM build has been leaked to the web but no x64 build yet.

The TV pack has now been leaked in both 32bit and 64bit a quick search will find them its also already been found out that if you drop in the decoder dll from the beta version is fully restores the h264 support in the final release version.

Any news on them integrating Blue Ray into the DVD menu?

If you have Power DVD there is a third party plugin that works great that someone has written which adds integration to the strip menus. If you’re using ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre then integration with VMC is built straight in to the software.
