DVD audio through S/PDIF?

Ah I didn't get this from your posts. In the control panel for your soundcard or the windows one find the output format setting for S/PDIF and make sure it's set to stereo then play with the bitdepth and sample rates.

Neither Windows, nor my Soundmax control panel seem to acknowledge the fact that there is something connected through the SP/DIF.

All I can do with either of them is "Disable Digital Output", which obviously mutes the sound.

Uncheck everything under SPDIF Passthrough.
Check output SPDIF as PCM.
